S1 | EPISODE 3
Sakina Najmi, Vice President of Marketing at Tractable, joins host Ishaan Shakunt on the latest episode of Hack a Stack: The SaaS Tech Stack Show.
As a marketing specialist, Sakina says "She loves starting with a blank canvas and making something out of it." It's no wonder then, that her career has spanned several successful stints across startups like Rakuten and ESV Digital and legacy marketing companies like Leo Burnett and Ogilvy & Mather. Sakina has a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at Dallas.
In this episode of Hack a Stack: The SaaS Tech Stack Show, Sakina shares how she inherited a blank canvas at Tractable with only two resources in her marketing team. From here, she helped scale the business by building the marketing team from the ground up. She built the demand generation team to create a sales pipeline and supplemented it with a content and product team. Along the way, she integrated tech stacks like Salesforce into the organization.
Sakina built the marketing infrastructure at Tractable brick-by-brick by prioritizing recruitment and induction of technology with a six- to twelve-month perspective. The idea was to lay the foundation and then build for scale. Goals for people across business verticals were tied into pipeline goals to spread ownership of business growth across the company.
